Staying Organised in 2018*

In the last couple of years I have become an incredibly disorganised person. I'm forever losing letters, forgetting about appointments (thank god for text/email reminders!) and essentially, I'm just all over the place.

I have come to rely on a diary to keep me in check and to generally keep up with life etc.
I was lucky enough to be sent two amazing diaries this year and I wanted to tell you a little bit about them because they're both wonderful.

The first one is the Notes To Self Journal.

"A MINDFULNESS JOURNAL.
A GAME CHANGER
IN TAKING BETTER CARE OF YOU"

This journal is all about taking some time out of your life to focus solely on you and what you actually want from your life. In the age of social media it's easy to be tricked into thinking that everyone has the perfect life and are "on track" in every aspect. It's then even easier to become distracted and influenced by that. I know from my own experiences that it can be really disheartening seeing others flaunting their engagements, promotions, babies etc because you can't help but wonder whether you're falling behind in life. For some reason we get the idea in our heads that if they're doing it then we should be too but do we ever stop to wonder if that's actually where we want our lives to be? Are we just doing things because we think that's what is expected of us?

This diary encourages you to take the reins and start carving the path you want to follow outside of the expectations we have out on ourselves. It does this in a non preachy, very encouraging way. The book itself comes from a place of absolute honesty. You know that the author herself has ridden the roller coaster of life and has her heart set on helping others make the journey a little easier.

This is a hardback diary which makes it very sturdy and reliable. It's layout is really lovely. It has lots of handy extras like measuring your water intake, a self care space and a place to record your mood (perfect for me!).

This journal doesn't only focus on your mental health but your physical health too. the two are so closely linked so keeping track of both may help you find pitfalls in your habits, eating, mood etc.

It is everything I look for in a journal and more.

Go and buy one. Seriously, just go. You wont regret it.

The other journal is the Every Day Matters 2018 Diary.

This is a handy handbag sized diary full of positivity, relatable quotes and tasks to incorporate into your week/month.
I actually mentioned this diary last year and was so happy to receive the 2018 copy this year. I loved using my diary and found it to be a lovely pick me up.

The design is bright and colourful that really stand out. The whole diary is full of uplifting messages and thought provoking challenges and tasks which -as with the other diary- encourages you to stop for a second and focus on yourself.

We're often so busy that we neglect to take care of the most important person in our lives: ourselves.
At the end of each month you're given a space to reflect and evaluate the days that have gone by. It gives you the opportunity to revisit some of the highlights as well as dissect some of the not so great moments. This whole diary is about self reflection, mindfulness and focusing on the good.

So that's how I plan on trying to keep my life together in 2018.

Do you keep a diary?
